The Tangled Web We Watch is a Web Magazine (aka my blog) for people interested in the blossoming business of storytelling on the web. Creators and consumers can read interviews with successful web writers and directors, as well as digital industry producers and executives who are looking for the next big thing.
The TV drama, sit-com and feature film all have copious publications on how to structure story. The Web Series, like a short film or play, can take any form. But that freedom can be daunting. Check out the Types of Web Series section for analysis on the formats of web series as they continue to define themselves. The Series Analysis section will also offer thoughts from me and other professional writers on what works and doesn’t for short form storytelling in different series.
When you’re ready for pre-production, visit the Resource page to connect with technical artists, composers, animators, etc. who are willing to work on low-budget projects. Review their work and contact those who fit your style.
